A Message From Event Chair Shane Clark

Dear Friends of the Fire Service,

As we enter into our second decade of proudly serving our firefighter needs, we are pleased to announce a new partnership with the Greater Tucson Fire Foundation (GTFF).   The new partnership came about as a result of feedback from stakeholders and sponsors who expressed a desire to use more of the proceeds to address local firefighter health and safety issues. Under the new relationship, the GTFF will receive a majority of the proceeds from the event to address very serious issues that affect firefighters; cardiac, cancer, and mental health and wellness.  GTFF programs help local firefighters who have been diagnosed with these conditions get the treatment they need to heal and return to duty.

We are maintaining our support of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) and its efforts to honor the Nation’s Fallen Firefighters and assist surviving family members. The event committee has decided that proceeds from the live/silent auction will go to NFFF programs.

Now, about the name change. We wanted a name that would reflect the richness and culture of our region and the good time we have raising money for a great cause: Supporting the men and women of the fire service.  Fiesta de los Bomberos is a firefighter’s party!

On behalf of the event committee, thank you for your support. I am grateful for our dedicated sponsors, the volunteers, and members from 15 Southern Arizona fire agencies who give their time each year to make it happen.

See you September 15 & 16.

Shane Clark
