Chair’s Message

Shane Clark

Dear Friends of the Fire Service,

Please accept my deep appreciation for your commitment to the men and women of the fire service in Southern Arizona. It was so good to see all of you at Feast & Fairways 2022. Together we had a record setting year, raising more than $95,000. We hope our 2023 effort continues this success.

Your support helps us address local firefighter health and safety issues through the Greater Tucson Fire Foundation (GTFF). GTFF programs help firefighters diagnosed with cancer, cardiac, and mental health conditions get the treatment they need to heal and return to duty. As you may know, a portion of these proceeds also go to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) to assist them in their efforts to honor the Nation’s fallen firefighters and assist surviving family members.

Each year at this event, we pay tribute to those Arizona firefighters that have made the ultimate sacrifice. This year we offer a special tribute to the 19 members of the Granite Mountain Hotshots who tragically perished while fighting a devastating wildland fire near Yarnell, AZ on June 30, 2013. On the10th anniversary of this tragic event, we honor their spirit and the sacrifice they made to protect their community. This we must never forget.

This year marks our 17th year holding our event. In these years we have raised more than $730,000. The outpouring of support for those that serve our community has been simply incredible. We support them in their time of need. On behalf of our committee of volunteers and members from the 15 Southern Arizona fire agencies who give their time each year to make it happen, THANK YOU for your support. See you at our event that will be returning to Casino Del Sol and the Sewailo Golf Club on September 21-23, 2023.

Sincerely,

Shane Clark, Chair
2023 Fiesta de los Bomberos Committee
