More than 450 guests attended the Feast & Fairways event on September 21-22, 2018 to connect with fire service friends and supporters, and to raise funds for two outstanding organizations.
The Greater Tucson Fire Foundation works to assist the fire service community with unmet needs in the areas of advanced training, technology, survivor’s help, education campaigns and firefighter health and wellness. It is a nonprofit organization, dedicated to supporting the 1,700 firefighters who serve and protect more than one million residents of metropolitan Tucson. GTFF funding from the event will be used to address major issues that affect firefighters; cardiac, cancer and mental health.
Congress established the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation in 1992. Since then the NFFF has led a nationwide effort to remember America’s fallen firefighters. The nonprofit Foundation has developed and expanded programs to honor fallen firefighters and assist their families and coworkers. NFFF programs include support for fire service survivors, scholarships for survivors’ children, line of duty death and injury prevention, creation of a national memorial park, and much more.
