Fiesta de los Bomberos Feast & Fairways event brings together fire service friends and supporters to raise funds for two outstanding organizations.

The Greater Tucson Fire Foundation works to assist the fire service community with unmet needs in the areas of advanced training, technology, survivor’s help, education campaigns and firefighter health and wellness. It is a nonprofit organization, dedicated to supporting more than 1,850 firefighters who serve and protect communities in Pima, Santa Cruz, Cochise, and Yuma counties.  GTFF funding from the event will be used to address the three major causes of job-related firefighter deaths and injuries: heart attacks, cancer and suicide. The GTFF provides services in the areas of cardiac health and wellness; cancer awareness and screening: and mental health and wellness to firefighters and their families.

Congress established the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation in 1992.  Since then, the NFFF has led a nationwide effort to honor the Nation’s fallen firefighters, provide emotional and financial support to surviving family members, and develop programs designed to reduce the number of job-related firefighter deaths and injuries. NFFF programs include support for fire service survivors, scholarships for survivors’ children, line of duty death and injury prevention, creation of a national memorial park, and much more. The NFFF offices are located on the campus of the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, MD, home of the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial.
